The 1952 Oswald Honkers.
-
Camptown
Racers (199kb)- The Honkers first single. Recorded in
the bathroom of Clownie's Meat Sandwiches in the summer of 1972. It never
charted.
-
Barkin'
At My Dog Again (891kb) - This was the first single from
the album "I got the stomach, he got the pump, the drummer got older" in
1983. It featured Jacky Pee on background vocals.
-
Bad
Moon Rising (865kb) - This was the Honker's biggest single.
Although it never charted, it was talked about quite a bit - even
John Fogerty, the writer of the song, had a few choice words about it.
Unfortunately, this is a G-rated web page.
-
The
Stomach Song (483kb) - A real crowd raiser, the Honkers
usually end their shows with this song. Sometimes, they pass out Rolaids
to the crowd while they play it. Sometimes, they just pass out while they
play it. Taken from their "I got the stomach" album.
-
Light
My Fire (1450kb) - Dark & mysterious like the original
version, this Doors cover features Jacky Pee on backing vocals. FIRE! Prviously
unreleased.
-
The
Lollipop Song (924kb) - This is the song that the Honkers
hate to play. Many of their fans asked the Honkers to write a song about
lollipops, the Honkers favorite sweet. So they did.
-
A-Day,
Not V-Day (46kb) - Originally recorded for the Annual
Holday Songwriter's Foundation, this little holiday jingle never quite
caught on. It was sold to a farmer & lost in a bitter lawsuit in 1976.
-
Break
It Down, Buddy! (135kb) - Taken from a children's television
commercial, this was designed to teach kids to "shape up!" Crime rates
tripled while it aired in the summer of 1977.
-
Friday
Nite Blues (1590kb) - Recorded while the Honkers were
disbanded in 1985, this song is a telling historical tale of how the breakup
between Oswald & Jacky Pee had driven him into depression.
-
Silly
Love Songs (830kb) - This song was recorded as a tribute
to their love for Jacky Pee. Even though she sang it, she hated the Honkers
for recording it & Paul McCartney kicked her in the shin when she met
him. 1981.
-
Snoogle
All Over You (798kb) - Perhaps the angriest song the
Honkers ever did, this was taken off of the Pump album as well.
-
Tommorrow
(261kb) - Another outtake from the Pump sessions. Notice the background
singers trying to warn Oswald that he was on fire!
-
The
Viking Song (414kb) - Oswald Gordon Liddy was a descendent
of vikings. This was his tribute. He didn't even play on it.
